Dear Car Lovers, Enthusiasts and Friends,
We welcome you to the Inaugural Las Vegas Concours d’Elegance!
The most important reason we exist is to help our friends at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
This is a charity event, and we are here to ensure that the hospital will benefit greatly through the donations of
our generous patrons and from the proceeds from ticket sales, auction items, and more.
Founded in 1962 by late entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the largest center in the United States for the treatment and research of pediatric cancer and other life-threatening childhood diseases. The unique hospital, which shares its treatment procedures upon request with other hospitals for free, has increased the childhood cancer survival rate from 20 to 70 percent overall.
For the first time ever, we offer the Concours d’Elegance in Las Vegas. Our setting is a lovely oasis, so close to the Strip yet so elegantly different. We hope you find this event to be uniquely Las Vegas, but so much more.
Our show is pleased to welcome some of the most beautiful cars from around the world; many of those shown here have never before been seen on display. As we go back in time we are graced to have such beautiful pieces of art rolling in all their glory down the Las Vegas Strip, arguably the most famous street in the World –a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
And we are pleased to have Maserati as our featured Marque for this inaugural event. Founded in Bologna, Italy in 1914, Maserati has produced some of the most luxurious, and also some of the most potent cars in existence, both for the street and for the track. Look closely and appreciate the attention to detail, the sumptuous interiors dripping in leather, and some of the forty-year-old engineering designs that are just now making their way into today’s more conventional production models.
This year, we also celebrate the much too short-lived life of the Viper. Our special exhibition class, “The Legacy of the Viper, American Muscle”, will present one car from each year of production, from 1992 to 2017, the last year of production for the Dodge/Chrysler/SRT Viper. In addition, we will have a few special versions both for street and track.
And the question on everyone’s minds -- Who will be the first recipient of the Helene Award for Best of Show?
The unique particularities of each car cruising down the street lined with fans, admirers and media is sure to give both drivers and spectators alike the feeling that they are part of something unique and special. They are.
On behalf of the entire Las Vegas Concours d’Elegance Team, Welcome!
